Pick of the Day: COS iPad Case

I like feminine accessoires for my tech tools, luckily gone are the days when I was trying to find a feminine case for my MacBook, standing in front of an ugly bunch of Crumpler cases in an Apple store and asking an astounded shop assistant if they had any other colours than "vomit" brown paired with "gall" green. Yesterday I had a quick stroll through COS and I found this cute iPad sleeve made of peach coloured leather with matching iphone case and a leather purse. Big like!

Placed In A Queue? The Stress-free Alternative.

Experiencing the above right now? Eek! Waiting in line in the cold to get your hands on one of those candy coloured clutches or other from the Maison Martin Margiela with H&M collection? Double-eek! Can't be bothered to stand in any queue, or don't want to shop under pressure? 15 minutes...go go go go...! Triple-eek! Did all the aforementioned and didn't get what you fancied? Faint!
Don't fret! There are other options to get your hands on something Margiela, and some "real" Margiela for that. Own experience taught me, that going back to the shop a few days after the event, will have quite some stock left. The stuff keeps coming in, usually in the form of returned items, when that oversized jumper even in size 34 seemed to big and the one size fits all coat looked better in the lookbook....
Another super stress-free option is yoox.com, there's quite some Margiela from previous seasons to be found. A lot of wearable items and nice accessoires at different prices. Happy hunting!

MMM for H&M

6 Days to go....are you eagerly awaiting the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection of reissued and tagged iconic pieces from the last 23 years, or are you going to pass this one? I'd love to know! At Fashionologie you can have a look at the whole collection, and ELLE Uk modelled a few looks here. My faves are the car seat cover dress Helena Christensen is wearing (but then of course everything looks good on her), the black leather jacket, and the black blazer with the wide deconstructed pants! The jeans are a little bit too East 17 for my taste! One thing I am missing in this collection though, are the fabulous sleek ankle boots that one can usually find at MMM, not so keen on the invisible heels. What are your faves?

The Knitwear Edit 2012

Jonathan Saunders at ASOS (Can I have the pants as well?) via Vogue UK Magazine
Laura Bailey in Bella Freud & Suzie Bick sweater (my favourite!!!)
Di Bari in Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf (für alle deutschen Besucher meines Blogs: Super Auswahl, sooo weich, viele Farben auch in uni)

J.W. Anderson for Topshop (currently out of stock, but I bet they'll have them in before Xmas)

Perfect for...

Leather shoulder detail at Whistles
Peplum Style knit at Zara
As aforementioned, never underestimate the power of a well cut classic fine knit! This navy cardi's by COS.

Come autumn, I'm always on the lookout for some nice new knits, this year probably even more so because my husband shrunk two of my Merinos in the washing machine at 60° - big sniff! Needless to say, they didn't survive, thus came out looking like something you would dress Polly Pocket in! So here's this years knit edit! When I buy cashmere (I'm not a fan of itchy and scratchy) I usually go for a quality classic plain slightly loose fit with ribbed cuffs and edges, that should last ages (if doesn't accidently get washed by husbands). Too boring to show on the blog, but they look so great with everything on and cute with a shirt tucked underneath and that collar sticking out. I also go for one that is fun, so my all time faves off the beaten track are Bella Freud, not only because I'm a sucker for any arty and Rock'n Roll looking stuff, but growing up with my mum knitting the most fantastic and sometimes crazy jumpers for me till the age of 12 - ( from that age onwards I insisted on uni or stripes - she then gave up - too boring) I am rather spoilt!
What are your faves? Are you going for the "PowWow" slogan stuff, turtle necks a la Céline, ribcage and cross knits, motif knits or are you going to keep it simple or have a bit of both like me?

The Oxblood Leather Skirt

Yes, leather again! This time I'm on to the oxblood leather pencil skirt in a relaxed fit. Another item fairly easy to style with a nice chunky knit and some ankle boots! The top one is by German newcomer label Blame and the bottom one is by Asos!

Forget tight and clingy - this season it's the relaxed slouchy leather pant! This is one addition to your wardrobe you won't regret. It's as easy to style as jeans, plus it will give you an instant update and you won't have to think if you're able to fit into them after that bowl of pasta. Slip on and off you go. Haven't seen that many high street versions around yet, but I expect that Zara, Asos, Topshop and H&M will soon follow suit! My favourites so far are from Massimo Dutti. Nice and luxurious soft leather and good value for money and there are some excellent ones in track pant style at shopbop!

The Biker Coat

Sandro 465 Euro...

...or get almost the same at Zara for 149 Euro!

One of my favourites this season is the Biker Coat, a long hybrid version of a Biker Jacket! Zara's got a great selection and they are a fab cut and good quality wool mixed with leather! Wear it all in black like Freja or pair it with some voluminous ankle length pants à la Céline for a modern look. It's edgy, very easy to wear and actually goes with anything in your wardrobe.
