A new coat for the season is definitely a serious investment buy. You want to keep warm, you want value for money, you want it to look good with most of your wardrobe and be chic at the same time and it should last several years. There are lots of styles out there, like Maxi versions, contrast arms, dropped shoulder, and I am liking the slightly more cocoonier shapes that make a longer coat look modern like the Jaeger and Stella ones. If you want the coat to go with most of your wardrobe opt for classic shades in grey, navy, brown and black. I've got a fantastic grey, below the knee MaxMara wool coat that has kept me warm the last years (before that puffa comes out) and it's still great, despite having been to the dry cleaners. Quality really pays off. If you calculate cost per wear...well, you get it. Don't buy the coat too small, as you want to get a thick wooly underneath and a slouchier fit will look better, than if it's too snug. You want to avoid those sausage arms. Make sure there is a high percentage of wool, ideally 100%, because that is what will keep you warm. There are versions for every budget, whether you want to go designer or high street. I absolutely love them, as nothing changes a look more easily and dramatically than a coat! Have fun picking your favourite!

Great post! just what I have been thinking about! For me the best one is 2 the Stella one the style is different but clasic at the same time plus it looks very warm but I think Zara coats are better value and they have nice cut the only thing is that they don't look as warm.
Cool post. I love coat number 3!

great picks. number two and ten are my favourites.
Great selection. I have a mix of cheaper high street and more expensive birthday present winter coats. Love them all. Must say though I usually feel much better in the swankier coats though. My faves here are 3, 9 & 12. Xxxx

You put together a great selection. My favourites are 1, 7 and 14. I would also like to buy a new coat, but I've just found the most amazing cape and I'm so tempted...

your post reminded me that winter is so close... YESSSSSSSSSSSS
I think I can die and go to heaven with a Celine coat! Having said that, I won't be buying a new coat this year (perhaps I'll make one if I have the time!).
Totally love it all!
Love Zara coat! Would you like to follow each other?
